Each one is different and special, each one has a different corner, a different facade, a different altarpiece. Because of their small size, weddings in Ibizan churches are usually intimate and cosy, and that is why they are special places to get married.
The churches of Ibiza stand out for their unique charm, their architecture and especially their white colour. Most of these churches are located in small villages, far from the hustle and bustle of the city, and have beautiful landscapes and peculiar views that make it easy for the photographer of your wedding to take the photographic coverage.
You will find the beautiful churches of Ibiza, spread out over the island, each municipality has several temples, so we have chosen for you, the best and most popular churches to marry in Ibiza:
1. Santa Maria Cathedral
Situated at the top of Dalt Vila, the historical centre of Ibiza city, it has a spectacular view of the city and the sea port. At the entrance to the cathedral, we find a beautiful square. Once inside, the decoration will leave us impressed, both by its beauty and its simplicity. Getting to the door in the bridal car is complicated, as the access streets are narrow. The guests have a parking lot a few meters below, and that allows access to the church by going up a small tunnel.
2. Church of Santa Eulària (Puig de Missa)
A beautiful white church with extraordinary views of the village of Santa Eulalia and the Mediterranean Sea, as it is located on a small “puig” (hill), surrounded by piteras and cactus. The church is reached by the Santa Eulalia road, which is very busy during the high season, and once in the church, parking is difficult. We recommend parking in the village and walking uphill.
3. Sant Llorenç Church
If you’re looking for a church away from civilization, this is the one you’re looking for. A small white church, with a large outdoor square and a large car park, makes it a good option for your wedding in Ibiza.
4. Church of Es Cubells
The small church of Es Cubells, is located right on the edge of a cliff, and it is impressive to leave the ceremony and hold a wedding photo session in Ibiza with the island of Formentera in the background and the impressive Mediterranean sea. It also has several places to park, so both the bride and groom and the guests will not be indifferent.
5. Sant Josep Church
Last but not least, the church of Sant Josep, stands out for its beautiful interior, and its large exterior square. It has easy access from the city of Ibiza and spaces for parking.
